Necessary cookies run regardless of your choice because the site cannot function without them. They handle your login state, record your consent decision itself, and protect forms from automated abuse. We set these directly.
Analytics cookies count visits and track which pages readers spend time on. We use Google Analytics for this, which means Google receives your IP address (anonymised), browser type, and referring site. You can block these cookies through the consent banner or through your browser settings, and you will still be able to read every page on this site.
Advertising cookies are set by networks we work with to fund the site. They let those networks show you relevant offers and measure whether an ad led to a sign-up. Declining them means you will see fewer ads tailored to your recent browsing, but generic ads may still appear.
Preference cookies remember choices you made on a previous visit—your preferred language, whether you dismissed a particular notice. These are helpful rather than essential, and declining them simply means you will need to make the same choice again next time.
Embedded third parties

Declining without breaking the site
You have four ways to manage cookies, and every one of them leaves the site readable.
The consent banner appears on your first visit and lets you accept all cookies, reject the non-essential ones, or open detailed settings to pick category by category. Your choice is stored in a necessary cookie so we do not ask again. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing that cookie or revisiting the settings link in the footer.
Browser controls let you block cookies at the source. The steps differ by browser:
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data. Choose "Block third-party cookies" or "Block all cookies".
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Enhanced Tracking Protection. Select "Strict" to block most trackers and third-party cookies.
- Safari: Preferences → Privacy. Tick "Block all cookies" or "Prevent cross-site tracking".
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Manage and delete cookies. Choose "Block third-party cookies" or "Block all cookies".
Blocking all cookies will log you out of any site you were signed into, including this one, and some interactive features may stop working. Blocking third-party cookies alone is usually enough to stop tracking without breaking functionality.
Private or incognito mode prevents your browser from storing cookies after you close the window. Analytics and advertising cookies are still set during the session itself, but they are deleted when you quit the browser.
Browser extensions such as uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger and Ghostery block tracking scripts before they load. These tools are more aggressive than the consent banner and may prevent some embedded content from appearing.
Updates
We review this policy whenever we add a new third-party service or change how we handle data. The date at the bottom of this page shows when it was last updated. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised terms.
Where a change materially affects your privacy—such as adding a new analytics provider or extending how long we store data—we will notify you through a banner or an email to registered users, and ask for fresh consent where the law requires it.
